<p><strong>Job  Description</strong></p>
<p>Works with other  State Library Staff in achieving objectives of the State Library’s long-range  plan. Participates in the strategic planning and implementation of State Library  sponsored statewide programs and the identification of potential partners.</p>
<p>Consults with public  library directors on issues of management, including, but not limited to  planning, policymaking, budgeting, and personnel.</p>
<p>Consults with public  library trustees on advocacy, planning, policymaking, budgeting, and community  partnerships.</p>
<p>Maintains awareness  of current library trends and developments through professional reading,  conference attendance and organization participation.</p>
<p>Works with other  State Library staff to assess staff development needs for the library community.</p>
<p>Assists in the  planning and organization of State Library sponsored training activities for  library staff at all levels. Provide specialized training for library’s staff  based on needs and requests of library directors</p>
<p>General consulting to  all types of libraries, on a variety of management topics, including, but not  limited to reference and public services (including children/youth services),  policy development, board development and training, staff development and  training, technology, budgeting, strategic planning, and advocacy.</p>
<p>Works under the  general direction of the Director of Library Development Services.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>Specialized knowledge  in library functions and operations. Proficient in project management,  interpersonal relations, networking, consulting, planning, priority setting, and  technology. Thorough knowledge of staff development principles. Ability to  communicate effectively (oral and written), ability to work independently and  exercise initiatives, ability to establish effective working relationships with  outside agencies, governing boards, public officials and the general public, and  organize and present information through reports and public presentations.</p>
<p>Master&#8217;s degree in  library science from an ALA accredited college or university and four years  appropriate professional library experience.</p>
<p><strong>Compensation</strong>: $36,840  &#8211; $68,160</p>

<p>Candidates will possess a  Master of Library and Information Science degree issued from  an accredited School of  Library and Information Science. Extensive professional experience at the  library manager level or above required. Extensive experience in the field of  public librarianship required. Ohio Public Librarian Certification preferred.  Qualified candidates will demonstrate a comprehensive and broad knowledge of the  principles and practices of library science as they apply to the management of  public libraries. A demonstrated comprehensive and broad knowledge of customer  service and of books, authors and library materials as applied to public  librarianship is required. Candidate must demonstrate an ability to develop and  maintain effective working relationships with professionals, community groups  and organizations and customers.</p>

Otterbein is located in Westerville, OH, a  residential community of 36,000 residents on the northeast side of Columbus. <p><strong>Requirements  include:</strong> MLS/MLIS  from ALA-accredited library school; at least 3 years professional experience  required.  Requires thorough knowledge of general and specialized reference  sources as well as alternative sources of information (government documents,  etc).  Needs familiarity with social media, course management software (such as  Blackboard or Moodle), general office equipment, Microsoft Office software, and  html and web authoring software (such as Dreamweaver). Able to provide basic  technical support for library computers and equipment.  Experience using  Innovative Interfaces, Inc. (III) and familiarity with both PC and Mac platforms  preferred.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Wadsworth Public Library is  seeking applicants for the newly created position of COORDINATOR, VIRTUAL  SERVICES.</p>
<p>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:<br />
Under direction, the Coordinator,  Virtual Services manages the Library’s website and all related applications,  plans, implements and develops new applications, including coordination with  social media, coordinates content, and trains employees and customers on using  the Library’s Internet applications.</p>
<p>QUALIFICATIONS:<br />
Bachelor&#8217;s degree  in computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of education,  training and experience; public library experience and experience working on a  web design team is preferred.</p>
<p>This part-time position is open until  filled, but priority will be given to those applicants applying by  February 12,  2010.  In addition to a competitive  salary that begins at $17.60/hour, the Library offers excellent benefits,  including paid vacation, sick leave, health insurance (including vision, dental,  and prescription), public employee retirement, and health/flexible spending  accounts.</p>

<p>The successful candidate will be an  innovative, creative individual with excellent computer and graphic design  skills. Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years experience in marketing,  PR, graphic design or advertising required.
