Molly and I have been hearing from some really excited people about the MLC08. Thanks to everyone for the positive words.

One really important feature of any conference is the programming. Molly and I have had a fantastic response from speakers, workshop providers, and the library community.

Another very important feature of a conference is the vendors. Anne Davis, at Gardiner PL, is in contact with our vendors - to assure them of our conference viability and the awesome location. They are very pleased to be back in Maine. The reason for this is the friendships and laughter that they have shared with Maine librarians in the past. We have a reputation as a great conference site - and the reason for that is the third and most important feature of any event at any venue.

The most important feature of MLC08 is each and every librarian who believes that remaining current within the field is of such importance that it is worth the energy to ask the school administration or the town government for the money to attend. After all, they attend professional conferences.

We hope that the quality and breadth of programs will entice everyone to take this professional opportunity to reconnect with each other.

Hi Betsy,
Thanks! I'm glad you are looking forward to conference.
I just spoke with the staff here at Rockport and we are going to make a basket for your auction filled with items unique to Rockport, Maine. We challenge other libraries to do the same. We'll have fun with this and promise a basket worthy of your auction. We know it goes for a good cause-scholarships for our colleagues. Molly
