Library Use Calculator and Kennebunk Free Library

With the aid of the Library Use Calculator, the Kennebunk Free Library was able to place $2,096,119 on the total value of its services for the community.

The following information comes from an ALA handout provided to attendees at ALA’s National Library Legislative Day, May 2, 2007, Washington, D.C.
- There have been several different approaches to considering returns on public library availability and use. All showed substantial returns exceeding taxpayer investment. Florida’s public libraries return $6.54 for every $1.00 invested from all sources.
