I am Mary Johnston, the Associate Director for Outreach at the Indiana State Library. Though new to ISL, I have been a part of the Indiana library community since 1999 – managing a special library in downtown Indianapolis, serving two terms on the Indiana State Library Advisory Council and serving on the board of the Indiana chapter of the Special Libraries Association.
I started this position in May and I cannot wait to tell the Indiana library community about the many treasures available here at the ISL. Each Wednesday, the ISL staff will e-mail a brief announcement to the library community to let you know about ISL happenings such as events, workshops, additions to the collection, new collaborations, and opportunities to serve our community.
I look forward to continuing the work of my predecessor, Andrea Bean Hough, and I look forward to working with each of you. As I close this inaugural message, I will share ISL’s vision statement.
