On September 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Illinois State Library, staff from the American Folklife Center, a division of the Library of Congress, will conduct a workshop for librarians on how to interview veterans for local veterans’ history projects and Secretary White’s Illinois Veterans’ History Project.
Participants will learn basic oral history interviewing techniques and receive an overview of audio and video documentation and Veterans’ History Project guidelines. There will be hands-on practice as well as a guide to suggested resources.
