In spring author Alex Flinn spoke to students at Mater Dei and Central High Schools in Breese, Illinois. With the books provided by an LSTA grant, students read Breathing Underwater, Breaking Point,  Diva, Fade to Black, Nothing to Lose, or Flinn’s latest book Beastly before the visit. 

All of the books deal with situations teenagers often face in their lives and demonstrate accepting responsibility for one’s actions.  Flinn talked to students and staff about the writing process and conducted several writing workshops.  Many students read all six of her books and then looked for similar titles.
