  ProQuest Database Training Sessions

  A ProQuest CSA representative will conduct half-day training sessions on the Historical Hartford Courant Newspaper, Heritage Quest Online and ProQuest Newspaper databases on July 31^st at the UCONN Torrington Campus, August 1^st at the Danbury Public Library and August 2^nd at the Middletown Library Service Center. The training is open to all Connecticut library staff.

  Stacey Knibloe, Senior Training Consultant for Thomson Gale will be offering several iCONN Database Training sessions in July at various locations in Connecticut. The locations include the following: July 9^th at the UCONN Torrington Campus, July 10^th at the Danbury Public Library, July 11^th at the Fairfield Public Library, July 12^th at the Middletown Library Service Center and July 13^th at the Willimantic Library Service Center.

• iCONN

  New iCONN Bookmarks

  We have ordered a large supply of newly designed iCONN bookmarks that libraries can hand out to their patrons. The bookmarks should arrive next week. They measure 1.25″ x 7.5″ and will replace the 4″ x 9″ rack cards whose supply is nearly depleted. Libraries and library media centers may obtain iCONN bookmarks at no charge by completing the order form and faxing it to 860-757-6503. The bookmarks come in shrink-wrapped packages of 100 each.   iCONN Adds Additional Resources

  Gale has added Academic OneFile and LegalTrac to Connecticut’s current three year contract at no additional charge. Academic OneFile is a database of over 8,000 journals covering everything from science and technology to the humanities.

  Legaltrac indexes 1,300 titles and provides full-text to 109 legal journals. All the content also is available in Infotrac Onefile but provides a dedicated interface for those seeking legal information.

  Online training webinars are available through the following site:

  Open WorldCat will be added to federated searching to allow patrons and librarians to search for materials in libraries not currently part of reQuest. What is WorldCat?

  iCONN has three great animated banner ads running on Courant.com and
  ctnow.com. They come in three shapes, vertical, horizontal and a cube. Click here if you’d like to see what they look like.
  If you’d like to add one of these banners to your website as a more eye-catching alternative to a plain link, click on the “download” link and follow the easy instructions. Once you put them on your website, patrons can click on the banner and be taken directly to iCONN.
