Over the course of the next two weeks, you’ll be receiving a box of marketing materials to help you promote an exciting summer contest: “Dive into Saving for College.”

The Connecticut State Library has partnered with the Office of Connecticut State Treasurer Denise L. Nappier, Connecticut Higher Education Trust (CHET), and TIAA-CREF Tuition Financing, Inc. (TFI) to present an exciting summer reading promotion for the second year in a row.

“Dive into Saving for College” encourages Connecticut parents to sign up their children for your summer reading program and provides an incentive to motivate them to do so! The “Dive into Saving for College” promotion gives parents a chance to win a $1,000 check prize that can be used toward their child’s future college education. The promotion is also designed to remind families of the importance of saving early to help offset the rising costs of a college education. As an added bonus, the library in which the winning parent signed up for the “Dive into Saving for College” promotion will win a $500 check prize to support their library programs and initiatives.  There will also be additional opportunities for prizes for student readers and libraries.

Your box of marketing materials will include everything that you need to implement the “Dive into Saving for College ”promotion at your library—including instructions, an entry collection box, entry forms and informational small flyers (buck slips).
