Congratulations goes out to the Antiquarian and Landmarks Society in Hartford, which has received a $53,090 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services based in Washington, D.C.
Matched with $63,783 in local funds, the funds enable the Society to rehouse more than 400 linear feet of archival materials, including letters, diaries, business papers, photographs, and glass plate negatives in archival storage materials and moved to a newly constructed, environmentally stable facility.
Grant funds will also be used to purchase and install archival-quality shelving in the new facility. Consolidation of the collections in a more central location will provide greater access to these collections for staff, educators, students, members, the public, and outside researchers.
