Partners Scholastic and Welch’s are providing Welch’s Harvest Grants to help teach the value of sustainable agriculture and healthy eating through school gardens; hands-on experiences with planting, tending, and growing gardens provide children a dynamic setting for learning.
Two schools in each state will be selected to receive a grant. Winners receive a customized indoor or outdoor garden package filled with a variety of tools, seeds, educational materials, and more. Public or private schools, accredited home school associations, public libraries, religious educational centers, and Head Start centers having any of the grades K-8 and a minimum of 15 students in the classroom are eligible to apply. Deadline: February 6, 2010
