Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries: Books and Magazines for School Libraries

By Douglas Lord | October 22nd, 2009 | Comment?

In order to promote a love of reading, the Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries will provide books and magazines to the public and private school libraries for the students that most need them.

The foundation makes grants of up to $6,000 each to update, extend, and diversify the book collections of school libraries. Grants are made to individual schools and gives preference to schools in which 90% or more of the students receive free or reduced lunches.

Foundation funds are available only for library books and magazine/serial copies and subscriptions. Only one application per school is allowed per year.  http://www.laurabushfoundation.org/web2/index.html

The web site has all the program information; the application is online.
