CT Library Community

Excellence Should Be Rewarded

By Tom Newman | December 18th, 2006 | Comment?

And in Connecticut, public libraries are honored each year for outstanding service. If your library has a specific program that shows creativity, innovation, effectiveness and has a real impact on your community, then now is the time to submit a nomination. The deadline for the Connecticut Library Association/Connecticut State Library 2007 Excellence in Public Library Service Awards is January 12, 2007. Last year’s winners were recognized for a Play-Group program for Children with Special Needs, and for a program “Inspiring Girls – and Others – in Science.” Find out what past winners have done (talk about inspiration!) and find out how to nominate your library. Or, you can re-nominate your library if you failed to win in past years when the competition may have been especially strong.

The Friends of Connecticut Libraries and the Association of Connecticut Library Boards partner with CLA and the State Library in sponsoring the award.
