E-Reader Summit & Technology Showcase
September 20th, 9:00AM-4:00PM
The Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records is hosting the one day E-Reader Summit & Technology Showcase at the Carnegie Center in downtown Phoenix. This event will focus in on using e-Readers in Libraries, and will provide libraries training and tools for e-Readers and other mobile devices in the library.
Registration for the summit will open at August 10th at 10:00Am and will close August 13th at 5:00PM. Registration is limited to 1 librarian per building, with a limit of 50 librarians in Maricopa County and 50 librarians across the state (excluding Maricopa County).
Along with current licensing, copyright and DRM issues, we will also discuss YA e-Reader resources, iPad apps and downloads, purchasing and sideloading e-Book content, other mobile e-Reader options, and Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records resources for all libraries across the state.
We will also discuss, in detail, the six bundled devices. These bundles may change based on availability, but currently include a mix of some of the following devices, each with a case and gift cards for ebooks:
If you, your library or your readers have any questions, please let us know. Throughout the weeks before the conference, we will test e-Readers and mobile devices with e-books, audiobooks, software, research databases, internet and other functions. We will post our findings and the answers to your questions here, so keep visiting.
